Ibizan Hound

History

The Ibizan Hound dates back to 3400 BC in Egypt where there were descriptions very similar to today's breed. They were shipped by sea to islands off of Spain, such as Ibiza, and were used to hunt small game.

Appearance

Exotic and elegant, deer-like, large prick ears, light color, strong with lean muscles

Color and Coat

They can be short haired or wire haired with up to 3 inch long hair which is hard in texture. The colors include white or red, solid or a combination. The red can be from light yellow to deep red. Other sources say the coat varieties include smooth, long or wire.
