Golden Retrievers were used for hunting and retrieving in the 1800s in Scotland. It was a cross between a Yellow Retriever and a Tweed Water Spaniel.

Powerful, a kind and eager expression, hard working condition, balanced with not too long legs.

Double coated, waterproof under coat, not coarse or silky, colors are shades of golden.

Other Facts
One of the most popular breeds in the United States, Australia and the United Kingdom. Golden Retrievers make good guide dogs, hearing, hunting, and search and rescue dogs. A couple of notable Golden Retrievers can be seen in the movies Air Bud and Homeward Bound.
