History

The German Wirehaired Pointer originated in Germany in the 1800s and is said to be a mixture of Griffon, Pointer, Foxhound, Poodle, German Shorthaired Pointer and Polish Water Dog. They were used for hunting.

Medium sized, muscular, sturdy, with wired hair

Color and Coat

The double coat is wiry, harsh, flat, medium length and weather resistent. They come in liver, liver and white, and liver roan.
