History

The Chihuahua is believed to have originated from a Fennec Fox which is small and has big eyes and ears. The name comes from the State of Chihuahua in Mexico which is where the earliest know dogs came from.

Saucy expression, compact in size, terrier like qualities, graceful movement

Color and Coat

Two coat varieties are smooth coat and long coat. Smooth coat is soft, close and glossy, while the long coat is soft and straight or slightly wavy. Chihuahuas can come in any color and color variation.

Other Facts
