History
Scottish Deerhounds date back centuries and were used in hunting deer. They went extinct and made a come back in the early 1800s.
Appearance
The Scottish Deerhound resembles a large Greyhound with a rough coat. Broad head at the ears and getting slimmer towards the nose, long headed, high and folded back ears, long neck, long curved tail, dark eyes
Color and Coat
Harsh, thick and wiry coat, with softer chest and belly fur. The preferred color of AKC is dark blue-gray, but darker and lighter gray, brindle, and yellow to red colors are also found.
