History
Poodles originated in Germany and were known for being water retrievers. They became popular in France and England and date back to the 15th and 16th century.
Color and Coat
The coat is curly (harsh and dense) or corded (tight even cords). They are non-shedding but require consistent grooming. Poodles should be a solid color of brown, black, blue, gray, silver, cream, white or apricot.
Height
There are 3 sizes of poodle - Standard Poodle is over 15 inches, Minature Poodle is between 10 and 15 inches, Toy Poodles are under 10 inches.

Poodles come in three sizes and are one of the most popular breeds. They usually excel in obedience training. They have only one coat of dense fur (no undercoat) which can help with allergies. They enjoy company of people and require daily exercise or play. Poodles are said to be easy to potty train. There are many cross breeds of Poodle (hybrids) such as spoodle, cockapoo, labradoodle, maltipoo and many others.
